Fatboy Slim

Short History & Biography
Norman Quentin Cook (born 31 July 1963 in Bromley, England), known widely as Fatboy Slim, is a pioneering figure in the big beat genre, blending samples from across pop, rock, and funk into infectious electronic tracks that dominated the late 1990s and early 2000s. He first gained prominence as the bassist of indie band The Housemartins, then transitioned to dance music with acts like Beats International and Freak Power before adopting the Fatboy Slim alias in 1996. His albums You’ve Come a Long Way, Baby and Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars spawned major hits such as “The Rockafeller Skank,” “Praise You,” and “Weapon of Choice” — the latter earning six MTV Video Music Awards. Cook has received numerous accolades, including a Grammy, BRIT Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, and a Guinness World Record for the most UK number-one singles by one artist across different acts.
